Ora Finch
Chair one · Scissor work
Opened the shop after eleven years of house calls. Best booked for grown-out shapes, soft layering, curl and coil work, and anyone trying to move from short back and sides to something with length.
Four chairs · Scissor, clipper & razor
Small Roam started as one folding chair in a back room. It is now a four-chair shop built on unhurried cuts, honest timings and a price you hear before the cape goes on.
The price index
Times are the length of the chair booking, not an estimate. If a cut runs long because it needs to, you pay the listed price anyway.
Wash included on every cut over 30 minutes. Dry cuts are fine too — say so when you arrive.
Student chair runs weekdays before 2pm with a valid student card, on any cut listed at 30 minutes or under.
How a visit runs
Useful if it is your first time here, or if sitting in a barber's chair is something you would rather get right than guess at.
Describe what you want in ordinary words — shorter on the sides, keep the weight on top. Names of cuts are optional. Photos are welcome.
A wash at the basin, then your barber checks how the hair actually falls, where the cowlicks sit and what will still look right in three weeks.
You get shown the back before anything is finished. Changing your mind halfway through is normal and costs nothing.
Light product only, unless you ask for more. We will tell you honestly when to come back — for most cuts here that is four to six weeks.
Who cuts what
Both barbers cut everything on the list. These are the areas each one is asked for most, in case you would rather choose than be allocated.
Chair one · Scissor work

Chair two · Clipper & razor
Trained on straight razors first and still prefers them. Ask for Len for skin fades, sharp line work, beard architecture, full head shaves and the hot towel shave in its full unhurried form.

Questions
Yes, weekdays between 11am and 1pm. We keep two chairs clear in that window and take people in arrival order. Any other time, the floor is fully booked and we would rather not have you waiting for a gap that is not coming.
Two to three weeks for a morning slot, about a week for the afternoon. If you cut on a regular cycle, book the next one before you leave the shop and you will never have to think about it.
That is the normal case, not the awkward one. Describe the length you want left on top, how short you want the sides, and whether you want to see a hard line anywhere. A photo on your phone settles the rest in about ten seconds.
Forty minutes in the chair. That covers the pre-shave oil, two hot towels, the lather, two passes with the straight razor, a cold towel and balm. It is not a service we can shorten usefully, so we do not offer a rushed version.
Book Sunday quiet hour, or the first appointment of a weekday morning. One barber on the floor, no music, no queue by the door. If your child decides partway through that they have had enough, we stop and you pay nothing.
The neck and edge tidy is fifteen minutes and twelve pounds. If you had a full cut here within the last three weeks and only need the neckline straightened, come in during the walk-in window and we will do it at the basin for nothing.
Yes, and we cut it dry first to see where it sits before anything is washed. Ora takes most of this work. Book the curl shape-up rather than a standard scissor cut — it is a longer booking because the shape has to be checked from every angle as it dries.
